Dr Silvia Bressan is a pediatric emergency physician and assistant professor at the University of Padova. She completed her training in pediatric emergency medicine at the Rambam Health Care Campus, Haifa, Israel and at The Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne Australia. She is also passionate about research and education and has collaborated with many colleagues from around the world in both fields. Following her research interest, she has been involved in several international studies and has published peer-reviewed articles mainly focusing on head injury and acute infectious conditions. She has been the Secretary of the Research in European Pediatric Emergency Medicine (REPEM) network, and part of the executive committee of the global Pediatric Emergency Research Network (PERN) since 2017. She is also involved in education at a local, national and international level in several pediatric emergency medicine topics, especially loving pediatric procedural sedation and analgesia and high-fidelity simulation.
