DUE

Pernille Due is professor of Child Health and Intervention Research, at the University of Southern Denmark. Pernille Due is a medical doctor and has been involved in research within the area of social epidemiology for more than 25 years. Her main focus has been child and adolescent health and health behavior and has her D.M.Sci. within this area. The importance of health and behavior in childhood and adolescence for the development of health over the life course has been of special interest, and mental health, chronic conditions and social inequalities have been two other main areas of interest. She has built the Adolescent Health Research Group at the University of Copenhagen, one of the leading research units within child public health in Denmark. In 2007 she became chair of the Child and Adolescent Health Research Programme at the National Institute of Public Health, University of Southern Denmark. Pernille Due has been the principal investigator of the Danish part of two large international studies: the Health Behaviour in School-aged Children Study (HBSC) and PRO Children. She was the deputy international coordinator of HBSC till the summer of 2016. She has been involved in a large number of international cooperative committees within these and other international research collaborations. Pernille Due has published more than 150 peer-reviewed papers, more than 58 book chapters and scientific reports and more than 250 peer-reviewed abstracts at scientific conferences.
