Head of the Department of Recreation and Leisure Studies at the Faculty of Physical Culture, Palacky University in Olomouc, Czech Republic and Co-chair of Physical Activity Focus Group in WHO collaborative cross-national survey Health Behaviour in School-aged Children Study. Dr. Hamrik has a background in physical activity and public health, sport, recreation and leisure sciences. His research focuses on active and healthy living of children and specifically the physical activity promoting policy. He works closely with government partners such as Czech Ministry of Health; Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports in the Czech Republic and other partners from public health sector such as Healthy Cities of the Czech Republic or Czech National Public Health Institute. In 2014/2015, he led the working group developing the Czech National Action Plan on Physical Activity under the National Strategy on Health Promotion and Disease Prevention at the Czech Ministry of Health – Health 2020.
