GREGORY

HAYDEN

Gregory F. Hayden, MD, earned his undergraduate degree from Yale University and his medical degree from the University of North Carolina. He completed his internship and residency in pediatrics at the North Carolina Memorial Hospital in Chapel Hill, NC. He then served as an Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer in the Immunization Division at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, GA, and as a Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholar at Yale University in New Haven, CT. At the University of Virginia, he served as head of the Division of General Pediatrics and his research focused on immunization and common infectious diseases in pediatric primary care. He spent one sabbatical year working with the Expanded Program on Immunization at the World Health Organization in Geneva, Switzerland. He has published his work in more than 175 journal articles and book chapters. He has been a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the Academic Pediatric Association, the Society for Pediatric Research, and the American Pediatric Society.
