Dr Hudson is a Clinical Associate Professor at the GOS UCL Institute of Child Health and a consultant paediatrician at Great Ormond Street Hospital, working within the General and Adolescent Paediatrics and Mental Health departments. Dr Hudson is section head at the Institute of Child Health for Child and Adolescent Mental Health, Palliative Care and Paediatrics (CHAMPP: https://www.ucl.ac.uk/child-health/research/population-policy-and-practice-research-and-teaching-department/champp-child-and-adolescent) within the division of Population Policy and Practice.Dr Hudson works with the UCL Medical School team and is module lead for the Child and Family Health (core paediatrics and general practice module) in Year 5.Dr Hudson's research and clinical interests are in the medical aspects of psychological disorders, the integration of physical and mental health, and life trajectories from childhood and adolescence. He has a particular interest in eating disorders and general adolescent health.Dr Hudson trained in medicine at Sheffield University and in Paediatrics in Sheffield, London, and Melbourne (Australia). He completed his specialist training as a General Paediatrician in both Australia and the UK (member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health and Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians of Australasia). He received his PhD from University College London in 2018.Dr Hudson is a member of the steering group for the Young People's Health Special Interest Group (YPHSIG). He is an associate Editor for the journal Clinical Psychology and Psychiatry and an independent editorial board member of Youth Voice, a publication that facilitates young people's participation in research. He is co-lead for the Junior MARZIPAN group, a group that leads guidelines and quality of care for children and young people with eating disorders, especially in physical health domains.Dr Hudson was paediatric member of guideline group for the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) Eating Disorders Guideline (2015-17), and officer for mental health and well being for the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (2018-2019).
