Nikolaos (Nikos) Papadopoulos is Professor of Allergy & PediatricAllergy and Head of the Allergy Department at the 2nd Pediatric Clinic,University of Athens, with Honorary Professorships at the University ofManchester and OPRI, Singapore. His research focuses on the role of microbes in allergic inflammation,interactions with environmental factors—including food—and the use of real-world evidence to advance clinical practice. He has made significant contributions to pediatric asthma, respiratory virology, and food allergies. He has supervised over 20 PhDs, trained numerous doctors and researchers, and organized more than 100 national and international educational events. A sought-after speaker, he delivers over 30 invited lectures annually. For over two decades, he has led and participated in high-impact EU research projects, including GA2LEN, PreDicta, CURE, and SynAir-G. He has served as EAACIPresident (2013-2015), REG President (2018-2020), and is currently a WAO BoardMember. With over 500 publications, 68,000+ citations, and an h-index of 118, he isEditor-in-Chief of Frontiers in Allergy and a recipient of multiple international awards. His current work explores the respiratory virome’s role in asthma, interventions for indoor air pollution in schools, and innovative treatments for food allergies. He also leads PeARL (Pediatric Asthma in Real-Life), a global think tank dedicated to optimizing pediatric asthma management.
