Dr Paul Turner is MRC Clinician Scientist and Clinical Senior Lecturer in Paediatric Allergy & Immunology within the MRC & Asthma UK Centre in Allergic Mechanisms at Imperial College London. He is also a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Sydney, Australia. In 2012 he was awarded a UK Medical Research Council Fellowship, to assess mechanisms of acute allergic reactions to peanut, and how this may be modulated during oral immunotherapy. His research centres on the pathophysiology of severe allergic reactions to food, and how this impacts upon allergen risk management and the use of precautionary allergen labelling. Paul also is a Clinical Trials Specialist at Public Health England, and has led a number of muticentre studies assessing the safety and efficacy of the intranasal influenza vaccine. Paul is an Honorary Consultant at a number of London teaching hospitals, including St Mary's, the Royal Free and the Royal Brompton.
